Much like a personal compliment, a glowing referral can boost your confidence and make you see your business in a new light. When my clients are struggling to figure out who their Person is, I like to task them with a quick and fun assignment: write your ideal referral. 

By answering the questions below, and including whatever additional information comes to mind as you do, your ideal client will start to take shape. Knowing who you’re looking for makes it much easier to find them.

  • What does the client say about you?

  • What aspects of your business do they praise?

  • What kind of language do they use?

  • What do they tell other people about the experience of working with or buying from you?

  • Where is it posted, shared, or available for others to see?
